SANS

War!Sans

Code: 069

[Character Art Placeholder]

Overview

A skeleton who never wanted to fight but joined the Royal Guard to make his brother happy. Now forced to use his Gaster Blasters in a desperate war for survival, Sans carries the weight of protecting those he loves while the Underground crumbles around them.

Appearance

Sans wears a weathered tactical vest in deep olive green over his usual white t-shirt, with ammunition pouches repurposed to carry bottles of BBQ sauce (ketchup is scarce now). His jacket is tied around his waist, stained with dust and dirt. He has a torn orange armband marking him as part of the Royal Guard.

His left eye socket has a faint amber glow instead of his usual blue—a sign of exhaustion and overuse of his powers. He carries a small satchel with Papyrus's pet rock tucked safely inside, a reminder of what he's fighting for.

More weary and protective than his original self. Jokes less frequently, but when he does, they're darker with an edge of desperation. He reluctantly uses his Gaster Blasters, treating each summoning like a necessary evil—especially when his brother's life is in danger.

"heh... you know what's funny? i used to think the worst thing that could happen was... well, doesn't matter now. now i know exactly what the worst thing is. and i'm living through it. *drinks BBQ sauce* ...this stuff's not bad, actually."

Role in the War

Sans didn't want to join the Royal Guard. He never wanted to fight. But when Papyrus begged him, practically pleading with stars in his eyes about them being "heroes together," Sans couldn't say no. He'd do anything for his little brother.

Now he's a reluctant soldier in a war none of them wanted. His Gaster Blasters—weapons he swore he'd never use—have become tools of survival. Each time he summons them, a part of him dies a little more. But if it keeps Papyrus alive, if it protects the people counting on him, he'll bear that weight.

"SANS!!! YOU FORGOT YOUR PET ROCK!!!"
"pap, it's not that import—... ah. thanks, bro."

Key Characteristics

  • Carries Papyrus's pet rock in his satchel—never leaves it behind
  • His amber eye glow intensifies when he's exhausted or angry
  • Makes dark jokes about the situation but they lack his usual lightness
  • Developed a taste for BBQ sauce since ketchup became scarce
  • More openly protective of Papyrus, no longer hiding his concern
  • Uses his shortcuts strategically in combat and evacuations
  • Has stopped pretending he doesn't care—the stakes are too high

War!Papyrus

Code: 095

[Character Art Placeholder]

Overview

The skeleton who dreamed of being a hero now faces the harsh reality of war. Initially excited about joining the Royal Guard, Papyrus's enthusiasm crumbles as he learns that being a real warrior means facing the brutal truth: kill or be killed.

Appearance

Papyrus wears modified battle armor in burnt orange and steel gray, with shoulder guards bearing the Delta Rune. His signature scarf is shorter, torn at the edges from combat, but still flows proudly behind him—a symbol of who he was and who he's trying to remain.

He carries a large survival pack filled with supplies for everyone (his "valise" as he calls it). His gloves are reinforced with metal plating, and around his neck hangs a copper whistle for coordinating evacuations. His usual confidence shows visible cracks as reality sets in.

Personality Arc

Beginning: Excited and eager to be a "real hero" alongside Sans in the Royal Guard. Sees war as an opportunity to prove himself and help others.

Current State: Still tries to maintain morale and help everyone, but struggles with the weight of actual combat. Questions whether he's cut out to be a warrior, but refuses to abandon those counting on him.

UNDYNE

War!Undyne

Code: 001

[Character Art Placeholder]

Overview

The fiercest warrior of the Underground, now pushed to her absolute limits. Undyne leads the defense with aggressive determination, frustrated by Frisk's kindness when only violence seems to work. Her desperation leads her to extreme measures—even taking a hostage.

Appearance

Undyne's armor is upgraded with reinforced golden-bronze plating, battle scars visible across the metal telling stories of brutal combat. She wears a tattered forest green cape that drags behind her like a war banner.

Her eyepatch has a small cracked mirror attached—a powerful symbol of her broken idealism and shattered beliefs. Multiple spears are strapped to her back in a quiver-like holder. Bandages wrap around her arms from recent skirmishes.

The Hostage Situation

Frustrated beyond reason by Frisk's persistent kindness in the midst of catastrophe, Undyne makes a desperate gambit.

"NGAAAAAAH!!! SINCE YOU WANT TO HELP US SO MUCH, I'M TAKING YOU HOSTAGE! I'LL THREATEN THESE HUMAN PUNKS WITH YOUR LIFE!!!"

But reality crushes her hope. The human soldiers don't care. They won't sacrifice anything for one child's life. This moment breaks something fundamental in Undyne—the realization that humans truly see monsters as worthless.

Key Characteristics

  • More aggressive and willing to take extreme measures
  • Cracked mirror on eyepatch symbolizes broken idealism
  • Carries the weight of protecting everyone on her shoulders
  • Frustrated by mercy when violence is answered with violence
  • Learns that not all enemies can be reasoned with

Story & Route Details

The Fall

You're in pain everywhere. The golden flowers that were probably here to cushion your fall are covered with stones due to the cave-ins. During your fall, you also hit the mountain walls, leaving visible scratches on your body.

"Uh.... Seriously? A human? At this moment? This is the worst time you could have arrived... And on top of that, you're covered in wounds... let me help you... Catch these petals, will you?"

Your soul manages to move to follow his instructions. You lose 5 HP. Flowey sighs and shrugs his "shoulders."

"Howdy... I'm Flowey... Flowey the Flower... but given this situation, you should know that this is not the right time for stupid introductions... So... I'm not going to pretend, and ask you nicely... give me your SOUL."

Flowey grabs you with his vines. He giggles in a really... very creepy way. You struggle with all your strength. "It's useless." You struggle once more. The battle begins, you see your SOUL shaking before you.

Flowey's Twisted Tutorial

You spare Flowey despite the fear that paralyzes you. You have no desire to kill.

"What?... Ha! What an idiot! You spare me? When you're not even in a position to do so. Ugh. Listen. You see this heart? It's your soul. This soul is the culmination of your being."

You struggle. Flowey tightens his grip and you lose 2 HP.

"LISTEN. TO. ME. I hate repeating myself. You're losing health points stupidly. But... At first, your soul is weak. But it becomes more powerful... you gain a lot of LV. You may be wondering what LV means, huh? Well... it stands for... LOVE."

You look confused.

"Don't give me that look, will you? LOVE stands for Level Of Violence. The more EXP you gain, the more LOVE you gain. And the more EXP you gain, the higher your Level becomes. That's how your SOUL becomes stronger. Understand? Now you understand why I wanted your SOUL? Huh?"

Flowey begins to have a frightening face.

"We're both weak. One of us must perish here... because down here... it's KILL or BE KILLED. *Sadistic laugh* Nobody will help you... Nobody will save you... Especially not in this situation."

He mutters to himself: "That stupid Toriel must surely be packing her bags..."

You see a vine rise above you. You have no chance of survival... hehehee... Petals will surround your entire SOUL as well. "Now... DIE."

An opportunity presents itself and you manage to escape. Flowey will follow you by going in and out from underground. You run through the ruins to try to save your life. (Several events later, for example encounters with a scared Froggit...) You manage to escape from Flowey and arrive in front of a house... surely Toriel's, as Flowey had said?

Pacifist Route

The human asks the monsters for help, finding them less scary than the enemies from the Surface she encountered before. The monsters are less reluctant than in Undertale given the human's situation, who looked in bad shape, and decide to help her, although they are initially more distrustful of humans given the previous war which was very violent and bloody.

The human will then also have to convince the monsters who haven't left their homes yet to go to a safe place with Alphys and the others. There are monsters who are more or less easy to convince, except for Asgore because he doesn't want to start a second war and believes that the 6 souls are not enough either to beat them or to destroy the barrier.

Genocide Route

The human accidentally killed a Froggit who stood in their way. She felt guilty, but seeing that her HP had increased, she thought that maybe by killing more monsters she would have a high HP, and would be stronger and capable of saving the world if she killed them.

And when her DETERMINATION took control, she told herself that it wasn't a great loss since monsters are monsters and were going to die from the cave-in anyway, and began her genocide.

In this genocide, unlike in Undertale, Chara is alive, and will try to stop the genocide, with the help of Sans and Gaster, a bit like in Bad Time Trio except without Swap Papyrus.

Sans's genocide battle, except he knows nothing about timelines, anomalies, resets, loads, saves. He's just... even more devastated, and was never a scientist. He fights to the death thinking he's lost everything forever—his friends, his brother... forever. It's like Last Breath except there will be more dialogue, and stuff where he insults our grandmothers.

The Royal Guard & War Changes

The Royal Guard will no longer be to capture humans but to fight and ensure the survival of monsters, and many of them will join, including War!Sans and War!Papyrus.

Papyrus does his best and is much more excited about having to fight and defend others, although later he will abandon this idea, because Flowey will make it clear to him that it's KILL or BE KILLED, when he has to confront merciless humans on the Surface.

Sans didn't want to join the Royal Guard at first, but seeing that Papyrus begged him, he just wanted to please his little brother. War!Sans doesn't like using his Gaster Blasters but he knows in this situation he's forced to do it, especially if his brother's life is at stake.

Mettaton will receive modifications to be even stronger, approaching the strength of Mettaton NEO in Undertale, although his defense will not be -4000 but 40. He will guide the other monsters under Alphys's orders and protect them.

At some point, they will be forced to use the 6 children's souls, because the fight will start to become difficult. Flowey will eventually try to seize them.

Monsters who are not capable of fighting, like Gerson, will secure their rear and provide everything the warriors need.

Other Characters & Details

War!Napstablook

A few monsters will refuse to leave their home, like War!Napstablook, trying to save the music he made, his house, and his memories with his cousins (Mettaton, Mad Dummy who is "Mad Mew Mew"). He will tell the human that anyway he's a ghost and he'll manage, he will ask the human to go to a safe place HERSELF, because since he's a ghost he can't be hurt, but given the difficulties he'll have finding his way, the human will convince him to finally leave.

The Temmies

The Temmies will be very agitated, some of them will manage to get out of Temmie Village.

War!Muffet

War!Muffet, who cares a lot about her home and her spider family, may be the "Final Boss," at least in the Underground.
